Common Questions:
All of the loops, samples, production music, and sound effects sold through this site are royalty free, meaning that you only pay the initial purchase price, and then may use the materials as many times as you wish without paying any additional license fees. Please read the license agreement for complete details on how the materials may and may not be used.
Here are some quick answers to commonly asked questions:
- Except for the products in the mail order category, all other products are delivered digitally immediately after a successful purchase transaction.
- A One Dollar ($1) processing fee will be automatically added to each order to cover the transaction and bandwidth fees. This fee is a flat $1 no matter how many digital download products you purchase in one order.
- Loops and samples may be used in any type of project, including music for other production music libraries, as long as the loops or samples are combined with other original musical elements and are not left exposed on their own in any part of the product. Please read the license agreement for complete details on how the materials may and may not be used.
- Production Music sold on this site requires that you file a cue sheet for any type of broadcast use so that our composers and producers can earn their performance royalties. Filing a cue sheet is FREE, and the performance royalties are paid by the broadcast company. Since the products are sold on this site for a very reasonable license fee, our composers and producers really depend on the performance royalties, so please file your cue sheets in a timely fashion and help them out!
- Low Quality MP3 format preview files are provided for each product. These preview files are of MUCH lower quality than the actual product files. The preview files may also contain tones to discourage the use of the MP3 previews files as is. The actual product files do not contain the test tones and are of much higher audio quality.
- To keep thing simple, only categories that actually have products in them will appear in the category tree at left, although you will usually have to click through to one of the lowest level sub-categories to see the products (they won't show up by simply click on the upper level, generic main categories).
- We are busy converting and uploading the over 500 downloadable loop, sample, and production music products from the old version of our site, but it will take some time to get them all up on the new system. However, we also have new producers uploading fresh new content to the site, so keep checking back as we'll be adding new content on an almost daily basis.
- If there is something you are looking for from the old version of the site, we are keeping that shopping cart and database online and active for a limited time. CLICK HERE to access and search the old database of products.

Browser Support
Please use the latest version of Firefox (highly recommended), or Internet Explorer, for best results. To use this site, your browser must be configured to accept Cookies, and Javascript must be enabled. Now would be a good time to add the looplibrary.com URL to your bookmark or favorites list. This will save you the trouble of typing in the URL to return to Loop Library.
AOL Users
If you are experiencing problems while accessing looplibrary.com from AOL, we recommend downloading the latest browsers from either Mozilla (Firefox) or Microsoft using AOL's internet browser. Once you have downloaded the browser software, launch the Firefox or Internet Explorer browser. You should then be able to successfully access our site using either of these browsers while you are still connected to AOL.

Audition and Download
A software media player capable of playing MP3 files, such as Windows Media Player or Quicktime, is required to audition the sounds, and is usually pre-installed in your computer. If not, you can easily download the free players from Microsoft or Apple, or many other sites that offer free media players (we like WinAmp). The sound quality of the MP3 preview files are vastly inferior to the downloaded sound files (which are usually stereo 44.1Khz/16bit CD quality, Wave files unless otherwise specified), but they are good enough to select the type of sound or style of loop or production music you may be looking for. The individual producers and composers who contribute to this site create their own MP3 preview files and the quality level of encoding may vary from one product to the next. Some producers may also add beeps or other audio sounds to their preview files to prevent people from downloading the MP3 preview files and using those as is instead of purchasing the full resolution product files.
Upon completion of a successful transaction, a special temporary directory and download page on our site is created that contains your files for downloading and a password to access your files will be e-mailed to you (thus, you must use a valid e-mail address!).
To download the sound files you have licensed, click on the download page link in the receipt e-mail, then, after loggin into the download page with your e-mail address and password, click on the button for each product you ordered. On most systems, you will then be asked whether you want to open the file from it's current location, or save the file to disk. You should choose to save the file to disk and keep track of the directory to which the file is saved.
You will have 48 hours and up to three download attempts to retrieve each of your files. If for any reason you can not successfully download your product within those limits, please contact us.
Most of the download files are provided in a ZIP archive, which most Windows and Mac computers can open without any additional software. On occasion, some of our producers may upload files in different archive formats. In those cases, the product description will list the download file format (which is also usually shown by the system software in red type right after the product name). If you have any problems opening an archive or need to know where to find the free software required to open special format archives, please contact us.
Problems with downloads or broken links
We just put the new version of the site online on October 1, 2006, and are working as fast as we can to get the over 800 product files from the previous version of the site converted to the new format and uploaded to the site.
If you find any broken links or encounter and problems with the product files that we may have missed, don't hesitate to contact us, and somebody will get back to you as soon as possible (usually within 24 hours) and work with you to fix the problem.
